There are many Speech and Hearing Impaired students working hard to learn in more than 2500 schools in India. They face many challenges because they have limitations of their sensory organs. Salute to the teachers who give their best to help such students to overcome the challenges faced by them. And teachers might also face challenges in teaching such students through current educational methods.
So, meraprofVR is conducting research to study what challenges are faced by the teachers who teach to such Speech and Hearing Impaired students and what innovative solutions can help teachers to overcome the challenges faced by them. And as we all know, nowadays, technology is updating rapidly and in this era of technology there are many tools and technologies that can also help them to overcome challenges.
The main aim of conducting this research is to contribute meaningfully to the International Week of Deaf People 2024 this September. By understanding the challenges faced by teachers and exploring innovative solutions, we aim to support and enhance the educational experiences for Speech and Hearing Impaired students.
In our one-to-one interaction based research, we will connect with 1000+ teachers and educators to know what problems are faced by the teachers in teaching such students, what technology they are using, and what new changes they think should be brought in the field of technology in education. At the end of this one-to-one research, we will come up with a conclusion to solve the problems they are facing.
In the workshop, we will visit schools of Speech and Hearing Impaired students and train 1000+ students on new and immersive technology and study how effective different technologies are in training such Speech and Hearing Impaired students. In this workshop, we will also educate 20+ teachers with the new technologies to understand how adaptive new technology is for teachers.
One of the important activities of this research is a panel discussion. In this panel discussion, experts in the field, five teachers & educators, and researchers will come on a single platform and discuss the problems faced by teachers and students in schools of the Speech and Hearing Impaired students. They will collectively try to find solutions for such problems and the role of technology in this.
Last but not the least, we will be presenting an award to one school that has shown exceptional use of technology in their education. This award recognizes the school that has best integrated technology into their teaching methods, enhancing learning and making a positive impact on students. We look forward to celebrating the innovative ways this school has used technology to improve education and inspire students.
